Imagine Me & 2 hours of my life i'll never get back

I attended a prescreening of "Imagine You & Me" with several friends. We met up for drinks first and got each other excited about the possibility that this movie might actually be, well, good. It had potential, you have to admit. Piper Perabo, British humor, Lesbian action (who wouldn't want to see this movie?) Unforetunately, the movie did not live up to the hype we had drummed up for it in our heads.
The first half hour or so was ok and I was still hanging on to the dream of a decent lesbian-themed movie. Woman gest married, falls in love (not with her groom), drama insues. But no one could have imagined the horrible twist that would lead to some of the cheesiest, least funny, and most predictable scenes ever to appear in a "romantic comedy". The turning point was when the two leading women go dancing (on a DDR machine at their local video arcade). Everything that followed was a string of trite, melo-dramatic, only semi-funny scenes, culminating in the couple ending up happily ever-after.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a GOOD romantic comedy, but this movie lacked both elements of the genre. Do not waste your time on this movie. I take that back, if you rent it with a group of people and intend to heckle it from beginning to end, it will serve you with enough material to last the evening. Enjoy, . . . or not.
